Smooth transition for Quirindi Care Services Limited continues 🌻
The integration into the Apollo Care Alliance continues to go smoothly for Quirindi Care Services Limited (QCSL), with Mr Mike Lomax handing over the board operations at the recent Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Members of QCSL attended the AGM held on Wednesday 22nd October at the Hub meeting room at the library complex to hear Mr Lomax provide an overview of the previous 12 months operational outcomes.
“The financial performance for 24/25 for QCSL mirrors 60% of residential aged care services in rural areas like Quirindi”

While this is a sobering statistic, there was a lot that the Board of Directors were proud to tell those in attendance.
The key priority areas for the Board were to continue to provide community members with an environment where they feel at home, safe and valued and to secure the future of Eloura, the Villas and the Gables.
Mr Lomax said that as the former board chair, he was particularly proud that the Directors had successfully reviewed, planned and executed a merger with Apollo Care, a community-minded provider to the ensure the future financial viability of QCSL and support ongoing quality care for older people in our district.

Mr Lomax also thanked the members and the community for their commitment to the organisation and said that this was further enhanced by the establishment of the Community Advisory Body (CAB) which provides a direct line of communication between the community and the Board. Mike praised Mrs Lee Batho and Mrs Maritta Heiler for their dedication in making the CAB so successful.
The AGM resulted in the dissolution of the existing Board structure and the commencement of the new Board of Directors as part of Apollo Care. Moving forward the Board will have five permanent members, three from Apollo Care and two from the Community. Former board members, Mrs Lee Batho and Mrs Christina Mahoney were elected unopposed to continue as Directors. Mr John Young, Ms Juliana Lalli and Ms Allisa Walsh, incoming Directors from Apollo Care were also present at the meeting.
Mike’s term on the Board and as the Chair may have come to an end, but he stated that he “will remain an active and engaged member of QCSL and will be watching on to see Eloura and the ILU continue to grow and thrive.” Mrs Susan Willis (a former director) thanked Mr Lomax on behalf of current and past directors and members for his stewardship of the organisation and for successfully negotiating QCSL through some very difficult times. The Board and members also thanked Mrs Maritta Heiler for her amazing tenure as the company secretary which also came to end at the AGM.
